Insurance & Coverage
Clear, straightforward support for your dental benefits.
At Lone Pine Dental Hygiene, we believe financial clarity is part of good care. While dental hygienists in Alberta can set their own fees, we align our services with the current Alberta Dental Hygienists Association Fee Guide to provide consistency and predictability.
We accept most dental insurance plans and can submit claims on your behalf, helping to reduce upfront costs whenever possible. For those without insurance, upon request we’re happy to provide a detailed estimate in advance so you can plan with confidence.
Insurance Plans We Accept
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
Alberta Dental Assistance for Seniors (ADAS)
Most private and employer-based dental plans
Because every plan is unique, we encourage you to confirm your coverage directly with your insurance provider. Our team is happy to help you navigate this process, and we can provide pre-determinations (cost estimates submitted to insurance) if required and when possible.
Important Notes
Services at mobile/community locations may include a modest facility or mobile service fee, which is typically not covered by insurance.
Insurance plans vary widely — what is covered for one person may not be for another.
We always recommend treatment based on your needs, not on what insurance covers.
Tip for Patients: Before your appointment, log in to your patient portal to view estimates and, if needed, upload your insurance information securely.
-
Yes, whenever possible we will submit claims directly to your insurance provider. Some plans require patients to pay upfront and be reimbursed — we’ll let you know if that applies to you.
-
Coverage depends on your individual plan. Preventive services like cleanings and exams are often included, while newer treatments (like silver diamine fluoride or atraumatic restorative care) may vary. We’re happy to provide a pre-determination if you’d like to confirm in advance.
-
No problem. We provide clear estimates before treatment so you know what to expect. Payment is due at the time of service.
Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The CDCP is new and growing — we’ll help guide you through it
Lone Pine Dental Hygiene is proud to accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). This new federal program is expanding access to dental care for Canadians without private or employer-based coverage.
-
You may be eligible if:
You don’t have access to private or employer-provided dental insurance.
You and your spouse/common-law partner (if applicable) filed your Canadian tax returns so that your household income can be assessed.
Your adjusted family net income is under $90,000 per year.
You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
-
You can apply online through your MyCRA account. Enrollment is handled directly by the Government of Canada.
-
CDCP covers preventive and basic services like exams, cleanings, x-rays, fluoride, and some restorative care. Coverage amounts and limits vary depending on the procedure.
-
Yes, in most cases. The CDCP uses its own fee guide, which is lower than the Alberta Dental Hygienists’ Association Fee Guide. Even if your coverage is listed as 100%, you may still be responsible for the difference between the two fee guides.
-
How much cleaning time does CDCP cover?
CDCP usually covers enough debridement(cleaning) for patients with minimal needs — typically about one standard cleaning per year. Many patients require more frequent or more thorough care to stay healthy. In these cases, we can apply for additional coverage, but some out-of-pocket costs may still apply.
-
Can you direct bill CDCP?
Yes. We direct bill CDCP for covered services, so you only need to pay any balance not covered by the program
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is still new, and details continue to evolve as the program expands. While it may not cover every aspect of care, it represents an important step toward making oral health more accessible for Canadians. Our team is here to help you navigate your coverage, answer questions, and make sure you get the care that fits your needs.
